These terms apply to customers purchasing through www.gbcheese.co.uk for personal use.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.

Using our website
You may use our website to browse products, create an account and place orders for lawful purposes.
You must not attempt to damage the website, introduce malicious software, interfere with its operation, access restricted areas without permission or use it for fraudulent activity.
Your account
If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your password and login information secure. Please tell us promptly if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.
Your information
Please ensure that your name, email address, telephone number, billing address and delivery address are complete and accurate.
Placing an order
When you place an order, you are offering to purchase the products in your basket under these terms.
We will normally send an automated email confirming that we have received your order. This acknowledgement does not necessarily mean that we have accepted it.
Our acceptance takes place when we confirm that the order has been dispatched. A contract between you and us is formed at that point.
Please check your confirmation carefully. If anything is incorrect, contact us immediately.
When we may decline an order
We may be unable to accept an order because:
- A product is unavailable.
- We cannot deliver to the supplied address.
- Payment has not been authorised.
- There is an obvious pricing or product-description error.
- We reasonably suspect fraud, misuse or unlawful activity.
If payment has already been taken for an order we cannot accept, we will refund the relevant amount.
Prices and payment
Website prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable. Delivery charges are displayed separately before you complete checkout.
Card payments are processed securely by Teya. We do not store your full card details on our website.
You confirm that you are authorised to use the chosen payment method and that the information supplied is accurate.
Pricing errors
We take reasonable care to display accurate prices. If we discover an obvious error before dispatch, we will contact you and give you the option to continue at the correct price or cancel the affected item.
If we cannot contact you, we may cancel the affected item and refund any payment taken for it.
Products and availability
We aim to describe and photograph our products accurately. Because food and packaging can vary slightly between production batches, colours, presentation and packaging may differ slightly from the images shown.
Any variation will not intentionally change the essential nature, stated quantity or quality of the product.
Unavailable products and substitutions
Products can occasionally become unavailable after an order is placed. If this happens, we may contact you to offer an alternative product, wait for your instructions or provide a refund.
Where a product is part of a customer-selected bundle, any agreed replacement may be of equal or greater value.
Ingredients, allergens and food information
Product pages contain available ingredients, allergen, nutritional, weight and storage information. Please review the relevant product information before ordering.
Ingredients, recipes and suppliers can occasionally change. Always check the label on the product received before eating it, particularly if you have an allergy or intolerance.
We will only describe a product as free from a particular allergen where this is expressly stated and supported by the applicable product information.
If you need further information about a product before ordering, please contact us.
Delivery
We deliver to eligible mainland UK addresses. Restrictions apply to certain postcode areas because of courier journey times and the perishable nature of our products.
If no delivery option appears after entering your postcode at checkout, we are currently unable to deliver to that address.
Please see our Delivery Information page for current charges, areas and dispatch days.
Dispatch and delivery times
Orders are normally dispatched on Tuesdays and Thursdays using a next-day courier service. Dispatch schedules may be extended during busy seasonal periods.
Next-day delivery is the courier service used after dispatch. It is an estimate rather than an absolute guarantee, and delays can occasionally occur.
Unless another period has been agreed, we will deliver your order without undue delay and within the period required by law.
Accurate delivery information
You are responsible for checking that the delivery address, postcode and contact details are correct. Please contact us immediately if you notice a mistake.
Safe places and passing of risk
We remain responsible for your order until it is delivered into your physical possession or to a person you have identified to receive it.
If you specifically nominate a safe place or neighbour, delivery may be treated as completed when the parcel is delivered to that nominated person or location.
Please use the tracking options supplied by APC to manage your delivery where available.
After delivery
Cheese must be brought inside and refrigerated as soon as possible. Chutneys and other products must be stored according to their packaging.
Gift messages and delivery notes
Customers can add an optional gift message at checkout. The message will be printed separately and included inside the parcel.
Gift messages must not contain unlawful, threatening, discriminatory or seriously offensive material. We reserve the right to omit content of this kind and may contact you where appropriate.
The Notes for delivery box is for short courier instructions only. Delivery instructions cannot change the delivery address or guarantee that a courier can follow every request.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that gift messages and delivery instructions are entered into the correct checkout fields.
Cancellations, returns and refunds
Cancelling before dispatch
Contact us immediately if you wish to cancel or change an order. If it has not been prepared or dispatched, we will do our best to cancel it and issue a refund.
Change-of-mind returns
Customers purchasing eligible non-perishable goods online will normally have 14 days after delivery to notify us of a cancellation and a further 14 days to return the goods.
Statutory cancellation rights contain exceptions. They do not normally apply to goods that are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly, including chilled and perishable cheese products.
Cancellation rights may also be lost for sealed goods that are unsuitable for return for health-protection or hygiene reasons once the seal has been broken, where that exception applies.
Faulty, damaged or incorrect products
These change-of-mind exceptions do not affect your rights if a product is faulty, damaged, incorrect, not fit for purpose or not as described.
For chilled and delivery-related problems, please contact us within 12 hours wherever reasonably possible. This helps us investigate promptly but does not remove or reduce your statutory rights.
Please read our full Complaints & Refund Policy before returning anything.
Offers and discount codes
Offers, bundles and discount codes may have additional conditions, qualifying products, minimum spends, expiry dates or usage restrictions.
Discount codes have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money. Unless an offer specifically says otherwise, only one promotional code may be used per order.
We may withdraw or correct a promotion where there is an obvious error, technical problem, fraud or misuse. This will not affect orders already validly accepted.
Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable when the contract was formed or for losses caused by incorrect information or improper storage supplied or carried out by the customer.
We are not responsible for business losses arising from a consumer purchase. Wholesale and business orders may be subject to separate trade terms.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by negligence.
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Defective products where liability applies.
- Your statutory consumer rights.
Events outside our reasonable control
We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control. If such an event affects your order, we will contact you where possible and take reasonable steps to reduce the delay.
Your statutory rights regarding delayed or undelivered goods remain unaffected.

Personal information
We use personal information to process orders, arrange delivery, provide customer support, prevent fraud and operate the website.
Please read our Privacy Policy for more information.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the shop, remember preferences, process orders and understand website usage.

Website content
Website text, product photographs, graphics, branding, logos and other content belong to The Great British Cheese Company or are used with permission.
They must not be copied, republished or used commercially without permission, except where the law permits.
Governing law and changes to these terms
These terms and consumer orders are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also benefit from mandatory local consumer protections and may be entitled to bring proceedings in your local courts.
If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining sections will continue to apply.
We may update these terms when our services, business practices or legal obligations change. The terms applying to an order are those in force when that order is placed.
Questions and complaints
Please contact us if you have a question about these terms, an order or a product.
We aim to respond to customer enquiries within 1–5 working days. Responses may take longer during Christmas, events season or exceptionally busy promotional periods.
Full information about reporting an issue is available in our Complaints & Refund Policy .
